Amalfi’s main square is the perfect spot to try some local street food!

Cuoppo Fritto: A classic Amalfi Coast street snack and a must-try when visiting the Amalfi Coast. It’s made of all kinds of deep-fried treats, served in a handy paper cone. Super easy to grab and go while you’re sightseeing.

It’s usually packed with seafood, but there are also fish- and meat-free options, like breaded mozzarella balls or potato croquettes. The most popular variation is the mixed seafood "cuoppo" with crispy calamari, shrimp, and little fish.

You can find this delicious snack in a few spots around Amalfi’s town center. But the get the best try at Cuoppo d'Amalfi. This little place is tucked behind an alley just off the main square.

Bonus: it’s gluten-free as they fry it in rice flour! If you're coeliac, let the friendly lady know, and she’ll take extra care to avoid cross-contamination.
